It is amazing how many allergies are out there and how differently each of us can react. Only yesterday our youngest son was at kinder and a mum innocently brought her dog into class to pick up her twins. He immediately told the kinder teacher of his allergies and the parent was asked to leave with the dog.
At Christmas time Leon was standing next to a wet dog at a pool party. The dog shook water onto Leon's face which instantly gave him an allergic reaction. This included swelling to his nose and face which took 3 days for the swelling to come down fully. Even with appropriate medications, and creams nothing could ease his pain. This was also caused from a hypoallergenic dog which in this case means nothing. This child has now developed a fear of dogs and jumps every time one comes near him. I am so proud of him informing the teacher, or yesterday's events may have been very different. Especially without his parents around. Stay safe everyone.
